Following on her catfight with Gino Carano in Furious 6, poor Michelle Rodriguez was forced to battle yet another MMA star for Furious 7. This time around it was Ronda Rousey, who makes up for the many things she lacks in acting ability by being a superb fighter. Plotwise the fight is completely gratuitous; its only there for the thrill of watching two ladies beat the tar out of each other. On that level it functions quite well, with the two actresses displaying impress moves and the fight becomes gradually nastier. Furious 7 offered a variety of explosive action in just about every form, yet the Rousey/Rodriguez scuffle proved that - sometimes - all you need is two gifted fighters and a few cringe-inducing sound effects to make an effective action scene.
