20 Doctor Who Actors Who Have Been In Star Wars (& 2 Who Will Be)

It's a lucky actor who gets to appear in a Star Wars movie or in a Doctor Who episode. But it's very rare indeed for an actor to find work with both franchises. In fact, there have been only 20 to pull off this amazing achievement. Yes, that's right, 20 actors have somehow managed to put both of these sci-fi credits on their reputable resumes. Incredibly, some of them have even done it multiple times! Before starting, let's set a ground rule for who actually qualifies for the list. To count as an actor/actress who has appeared in both the Star Wars universe and the Whoniverse, the person can have done voice work for one franchise but must have appeared on screen in the other franchise. Using that single rule, actors who are instantly recognisable to fans for voice performances can still appear, whilst keeping the focus of the list on on screen appearances. For example, actor Doug Bradley just barely fails to make this list due to doing voice acting in both, as Talbot in the Big Finish audio drama Pier Pressure and the Emperor in the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. Horror fans know Bradley well, of course. He was Pinhead in most of the Hellraiser films. There are a couple of other honourable mentions to pay due respect to before moving on. Although Marc Warren memorably played Elton in the Doctor Who episode Love & Monsters, he was only the stand-in for Ewan McGregor in The Phantom Menace. Since he never actually appeared on screen or voiced a character in Star Wars, he just barely fails to make the list. However, his contributions to the Star Wars universe can still be seen in the extras on The Phantom Menace DVD. And no one should overlook Nick Gillard, who came up with the lightsaber duelling techniques seen in the Star Wars prequels. What's less well known is that Gillard managed to make a very brief on screen appearance as Cin Drallig in Revenge of the Sith (he's one of the Jedi that viewers see in a holographic recording being cut down by Anakin Skywalker during the attack on the Jedi Temple). His character's name is merely his real name spelt backwards, with the "k" omitted. In the world of Doctor Who, Gillard was the stunt arranger for the confrontation between Sylvester McCoy's Seventh Doctor and the Cybermen on the 25th anniversary story Silver Nemesis. With the honourable mentions out of the way, let's start the list proper!
