20 Mind-Blowing Facts About The Dark Knight Trilogy

13. The Dark Knight Rises Featured Batman In Daylight For The First Time Ever

Easy to miss if you're not thinking about it, The Dark Knight Rises actually features Batman in action in the daylight for the first time. That was a first not only in this series, but also the entire Batman movie franchise. Since Tim Burton's 1989 effort, the Caped Crusader had only ever been shown at night, and even the comics have shied away from scenes depicting Batman in the sunshine. The daylight made this crowded scene no easier to shoot though. Christian Bale and Tom Hardy have both talked about how chaotic it was to be surrounded by hundreds of extras, and things got so hectic at one point that Anne Hathaway€™s stunt double inadvertently destroyed one of the extremely expensive IMAX cameras when she mistimed her arrival on the building's steps while driving the Batpod!
