24 Confirmed New Disney Films (& 24 Rumoured) Coming 2020-27

46. Call Of The Wild

Call of the Wild
Scholastic

Release Date: 21st February, 2020

Based upon Jack London’s 1903 novel of the same name, Call of the Wild will be an animated movie following the adventures of Buck, a dog who’s a cross between a St Bernard and a Scotch Collie. If that alone doesn’t sell it for some reason, then it gets better with the premise that Buck is stolen from his happy home in California, and sold to freight haulers in Yukon, where he has to fight for survival and becomes increasingly feral.

The film will be directed by Chris Sanders (Lilo & Stitch, How To Train Your Dragon), has a screenplay by Michael Green (Logan), and its voice cast includes Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens, and Karen Gillan.

45. Onward

Pixar's Onward
Techno Buffalo

Release Date: 6th March, 2020

Written and directed by Dan Scanlan, who previously made Monsters University, Onward was initially presented as a Suburban Fantasy film before its title was revealed and will star the voices of Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Olivia Spencer.

If you're wondering what to expect: it was inspired by the death of Scanlan's father and follows two teenage elf brothers who embark on a quest in a fantasy world where elves, trolls, sprits and unicorns exist to find the magic to spend a day with their father, who died when they were very young. So tears is the answer to that question.
