22. Val Kilmer's Badly-Dubbed Performance - The Snowman

The marketing for The Snowman gave almost no indication Val Kilmer was even in it, save for the above shot of him facing away from the camera while firing a gun.

After watching his performance in this rancid adaptation of Jo Nesbø's hit thriller novel, though, it's easy to see why. Kilmer has a fairly small but pivotal role as Gert Rafto, a detective who appears in flashbacks throughout the film.

However, due to Kilmer unfortunately suffering with throat cancer during production, his voice ended up being re-dubbed in post, yet little attempt was actually made to match the new voice to Kilmer's mouth movements.

Worse still, the voice doesn't even sound like Kilmer, and it's incredibly jarring every time he appears on screen. It's hard not to feel sorry for Kilmer in this situation, but one has to wonder why he was even hired if he wasn't fit for the part.

In one of the year's most boring major Hollywood movies, at least Kilmer's eccentric performance is the most memorable aspect.
