7 Most Memorable Tax Men On Film & TV

Leo Bloom

April 15th is tax day in America, and as such it's the perfect time to reflect on the guys in popular culture that collect, enforce, or process the tax code for us working stiffs. Some are really good at it, while others leave a lot to be desired. Others still merely pretend to be able to actually understand what even the most experienced bureaucrats have problems processing. With that in mind, here's our salute to those guys that make it rain April showers for the U.S. Government. Just make sure you get those taxes in on time, or else you may run into the ire of some of our list's more demanding members.

7. Joe Black - Meet Joe Black

Joe Black

Occupation: "IRS Agent"/Death Description: Death's mortal form himself, Joe Black tags along with William Parish as his company is trying to avoid a multi-million dollar, deal with family drama, and celebrate his final birthday on this planet. All the while, Joe is on vacation from claiming mortal souls and falling in love with William's daughter. Ultimately, in one of the film's pivotal scenes, he pretends to be an IRS agent to help deflate the corporate takeover that William's potential son in law Drew has secretly been masterminding. Cue obligatory, but witty, Death and Taxes gag. Could He Do Your Taxes?: Not at all. He reaps souls, not windfalls. On top of that, anyone who takes a vacation pretending to do taxes isn't quite right upstairs, so maybe we should question whether he can still do his deathly duties or not before we give him any further work.
