7 Most Memorable Tax Men On Film & TV

6. Nelson Van Alden - Boardwalk Empire

Nelson Van AldenOccupation: Former IRS Agent Description: Originally tasked as the man to take down Nucky Thompson's criminal empire in 1920's Atlantic City, Van Alden is more of a law enforcement agent than a number cruncher. (Something tells me current IRS agents look back on these days and wonder "Why aren't we more like that?") He was introduced to us as a man fervently following the laws of man and God alike. However, after some transgressive incidents involving his rather...obsessive personality, he engaged in a downward spiral of lawlessness. This lead to events at the end of Season 2, which saw Van Alden leave(read: flee) the service and go into hiding. Could He Do Your Taxes?: No, definitely not. He couldn't even do his proper job, and his focus was more alcohol related sales, as opposed to income tax evasion. Even if he could navigate his way around a 1099...would you really want him to?
