7 Reasons Why The Rearranging Of Fox's Marvel Release Dates Is A Good Thing

6. New Mutants Gets A Chance

One of the largest changes present is the delay of The New Mutants. The film was originally scheduled to open this coming April, but has now been pushed back a full ten months, to February of 2019.

That's a big pushback, and is certainly not a vote of confidence in the film as it stands, but it's also a welcome change. Coming from the same studio that rushed out a misshapen, confused Fant4stic just a few years back, the willingness to push New Mutants back so far ensures that they are at least looking to take the proper measures to release the best film possible.

New Mutants has been advertised as a horror-tinged X-film about mutants being kept in isolation, and just how scary their powers are. The word coming out of Disney/Fox is that the reshoots will be focused on making the film scarier, and fleshing the story out.

Considering the trailer released for the film was already drawing some unfavorable comparisons to the ill-fated Fant4stic, this seems to be the all around best route for the film.
