8 Most Disturbing Facts About Jared Leto's Joker

4. He Has An Abusive Relationship With Harley Quinn

The Joker's relationship with Harley Quinn has always been portrayed as being very unusual regardless of whether that's been in the comic books, cartoons, or video games.

Suicide Squad however looks set to take that in an even more disturbing direction based on recent set photos.

In those, Harley could be seen holding a gun to the head of The Joker as he cruelly taunted her. The scene took a much darker turn when he brutally slapped her to the ground and got back in his car, leaving her lying there.

It's been rumoured that Harley abandons The Joker after he murders Robin, but finds herself back in his orbit when he's brought to Belle Reve by Amanda Waller. This and the fact that Harley was at one point seen on set shedding the "Puddin" necklace presumably given to her by The Joker definitely appear to indicate that their relationship will be one which could be compared to what domestic abuse victims go through.

That's a dynamic which should make for uncomfortable viewing, and one which will no doubt make The Joker even more hateful and disturbing in the DC Cinematic Universe.
