8 Upcoming 2016 Movies Already Spoiled By Their Trailers
6. All The Best Jokes - The Nice Guys (Red Band Trailer)
The red band trailer for Shane Black's upcoming comedy noir film, The Nice Guys, depicts a film that looks really, really awesome. The paring of Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling (playing against type as a major doofus) as two mismatched detectives out to solve a mystery in 1970s Los Angeles, well... it's going to be absolutely hilarious. That's mostly because the red band trailer is packed to the brim with dozens of genuinely funny jokes and sight gags. The problem is that we've now seen them all, and - as a result - said jokes will likely hold few surprises when viewed as part of the actual film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vb32Kokbtg There are some that are still sure to remain funny, of course, but moments like the one which sees a guy falling from a rooftop, missing the pool below and splattering on the concrete should have been saved for the film. Likewise for the gag that has Gosling struggling with the toilet door, or the guys getting shot at in the hotel corridor. So while the marketing team behind The Nice Guys have technically done a splendid job in making the film look fantastic, they've also included way too much material; there's a sense that all the best bits have already been spoiled, and where's the fun in that?
