8 Weirdest Movie Trends Of 2015

Robots. Lots and lots of robots. And dinosaurs.

Movie trends are a funny thing. Nobody knows why they happen, exactly, or how, or whether it all comes down to mere coincidence. Of course, in some cases, it's plain to see how certain cinematic trends gain traction; something in real life spurs an interest in a particular subject and people flock to see it rendered on the big screen, or a movie tells a specific story that resonates, and then all of a sudden the multiplexes are filled with motion pictures dealing with similar subjects. When you look at them closely, trends are essentially about money. Something does well, so others attempt to replicate its success. And this can go on and on until an idea, notion or concept has been run into the ground and there are seemingly no creative possibilities left to enjoy. At this point, audiences lose interest and begin looking for a new trend to inspire them. Of course, a trend can return in due time, but it's not something to be predesigned. Every year offers a new host of cinematic trends, of course, and 2015 is no different. Here are the weirdest trends to have emerged so far. Some make sense, but most don't make any sense at all.
