9 Famous Actors In Real Danger Of Becoming Irrelevant

2. Bruce Willis

Action icon Bruce Willis is a source of much frustration. Much like Nicolas Cage, the 62 year-old is has proven on numerous occasions that he is a more-than-capable dramatic actor when paired with the right material, but the notoriously 'difficult to work with' star seems content to coast on his reputation in a string of derivative straight-to-video genre movies instead.

As he slowly began to age out of the smirking, wisecracking everyman action hero that brought him such huge success, Willis began showing unexpected range and nuance in everything from The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable at the turn of the century to Looper and Moonrise Kingdom in the last few years.

Of course, the actor still frequently referred to his default setting the Die Hard, Red and G.I. Joe franchises, but at least he was trying something different. For a while, at least.

Now in danger of becoming more known for taking an easy paycheck than challenging himself as an actor, outwith a cameo as David Dunn in last year's Split Willis has only appeared in one theatrically-released movie since 2015, and that was in the critical and commercial disaster Rock the Kasbah.

To put this fall from grace and relevance into perspective, in the same time-span he has still managed to lazily lend support to seven straight-to-video releases with such bland names as The Prince, Vice, Extraction and First Kill.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
