Avengers 4: Captain Marvel Is On A Completely Different Power Scale
You thought Thanos was powerful?
Everyone is currently gearing up for the release of Avengers: Infinity War, which is going to be the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie ever released - until almost exactly a year later, that is.
Avengers 4 is shaping up to be an even bigger affair, with all of the heroes expected to be back in action, and at least one guaranteed new addition to the fold: Captain Marvel.
Brie Larson's character is NOT (per Screen Rant) in Infinity War, despite previous rumours to the contrary, but she will be appearing in next year's untitled sequel after making her solo movie bow a few months before (complete with a green costume variant).
Screen Rant spoke to the movie's writers, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, about what we can expect from Carol Danvers when she does turn up and what it was like being able to use her in the movie:
"Well, super excited to have her - for one thing. You know, that movie does not exist yet so we’re following up on something that is good intentions at the moment. But that’s a power scale that right now doesn’t exist in the MCU."
Given the MCU currently includes the likes of Thanos, Thor, Dormammu, and Doctor Strange, that's a big shout, but one that's also fitting with the range of powers Captain Marvel possesses, and it's exciting to hear they'll be coming to the big screen.
There was also a comparison to another Avenger, who is probably leaving the MCU after Avengers 4, meaning Danvers should slot in easily:
"She’s I should say, in some ways the closest to Captain America which is a weird, now rare kind of character which is sort of a person who’s right and knows they’re right and doesn’t really want to hear it when you tell them they’re wrong. So, with all these flawed, f**ked up people and Quill who’s a mess and Tony who’s a massive ego all contorted. It’s fun to get another person with a clear vision in there and going, “Shut up.”
