Avengers 4 Theory: Why Ant-Man Is Key To Time Travel (And Undoing Infinity War)

6. The Quantum Realm's Rules

The important thing to remember about the Quantum Realm from Ant-Man is what Hank Pym warns Scott Lang will happen if he goes subatomic...

"It means that you would enter a Quantum Realm [...] a reality where all concepts of time and space become irrelevant as you shrink for all eternity."

Where concepts of time and space are irrelevant... That sounds fairly useful to a group of traumatised heroes who might have a vested interest in going back to a previous fixed point in, doesn't it? In other words, that's EXACTLY why Ant-Man And The Wasp is a key to dealing with what happens in Infinity War.

But the other key thing, even with Ant-Man's escape from the Quantum Realm at the end of the first movie is that the Quantum Realm is unstable because of the same things that could make it so useful to wannabe time travellers. Pym might have developed a new Quantum vehicle, but it's not simply a matter of going in expecting different results simply because of one happy accident.

So, how will the Quantum Realm be used in a stable way to ensure time travel might be possible? Something new has to come into the equation. What about the new technology we're going to see? You know, from the new villain...
