Although quite a lot of information has already been revealed about next year's superhero epic The Avengers: Age of Ultron, there are also a lot of aspects of the movie that are still shrouded in mystery. We know the main body of the cast, the general aims of the titular villain and the level of devastation that the events of the movie will cause (thanks largely to some sneaky set shots that have leaked), and while the mysterious elements of the plot that we don't know about will surely include some surprises, there are also some things that haven't yet been confirmed - but we're expecting that anyway. This movie stands to smash box office records, with the cast, characters, special effects and general ambition of such a project drawing in the crowds in droves. Therefore it's a certainty that it will be jam-packed with stuff to drive us crazy. In this article, we're going to take a look at some of the inclusions we're expecting, but aren't 100% sure at this stage will be in the movie. Here are twelve things we expect to see in The Avengers: Age of Ultron that we don't already know about (note that this article contains Marvel Cinematic Universe spoilers - including those for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
12. A Re-Established S.H.I.E.L.D.
On the 13th of May, the season finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - entitled "Beginning of the End" - aired in America. In the episode, Nick Fury reappears after having been on the run, and appoints Phil Coulson as the new Director of the espionage agency. This signals the re-emergence of S.H.I.E.L.D. as an organisation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after the mass infiltration by HYDRA was revealed in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and further explored in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on the small screen. As such, expect Coulson's S.H.I.E.L.D. to again provide support for the Avengers team they were responsible for putting together as they seek to put a stop to Ultron in the Age of Ultron movie. Perhaps we'll even see the likes of Melinda May, Syke, Fitz and Simmons.
