Black Panther: 20 WTF Moments

20. Wakandans Don't Really Care To Be Secretive

The opening sequence of Black Panther - after the excellent animated credits, anyway - sees T'Chaka head to Oakland to confront his brother N'Jobu, who has been radicalised and helped Wakanda's enemy Ulysses Klaue steal Vibranium and commit genocide.

It's a loaded opening and a good one, but it's hardly a good advertisement for their commitment to secrecy, since they literally fly a ship into Oakland in plain view of several people without major concern.

Fair enough, they might have confidence in their stealth technology, but the fact that the children playing basketball literally watch the ship come into land at the top of the building suggests it isn't all that successful. And what would have happened to those other kids if Killmonger was able to put together from that sighting that the Wakandans were responsible for his father's death?

Are they all locked up in asylums having insisted on the existence of aliens?
