Captain America: Civil War - 8 Plot Twists No One Will See Coming

Oh, so that's who Martin Freeman is.

Up until now, Marvel Studios has mostly avoided basing their movies on specific storylines. Captain America: The Winter Soldier was actually the first to be named after one, but both that and this year's Avengers: Age Of Ultron very much told their own stories from their print namesakes. Civil War however is a very different animal. One of the most successful Marvel events of all-time, the comic book changed how these types of stories are handled, making them a yearly fixture which encompass pretty much every title on the stands. The wildly popular storyline is one fans have been dreaming of seeing ever since Captain America and Iron Man first met in The Avengers, but the downside to a story with so many iconic moments is of course the fact that not all of them are going to make it into the movie. That's no bad thing though, and Marvel actually has the opportunity to surprise viewers with some of their own very unique twists and turns. These are ones which neither fans nor non-fans would ever see coming, and while some take cues from the comics, they wouldn't play out in the same way. As great as it would be to get a direct adaptation of Civil War, that wouldn't really be all that exciting for those who have read it. Instead, Marvel needs to shake things up in a major way while still paying homage to the source material. That's where these ideas come in, and even if they only utilise one or two of them, Captain America: Civil War could end up being Marvel's most shocking movie to date...
