Captain America: Civil War - 13 Major Plot Clues From The First Trailer

"It's been a long day."

Almost a month earlier than expected, the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War has now landed, after being unveiled on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While it had initially thought to be getting its first play before Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the marketing team at Marvel have chosen this American holiday season to give us all something to be thankful for, with the best look yet at what may be the biggest movie of next year. Civil War will pit hero against hero, with Captain America facing off against Iron Man, and the likes of Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, and the Vision all choosing sides, while also introducing the likes of Black Panther and, of course, Spider-Man to the MCU. The web-slinger is notably absent from this trailer, presumably saved for a big reveal of his costume later on, while we also don't get to see Daniel Brühl's Baron Zemo, the aforementioned Vision, or Frank Grillo's Crossbones. What we do get, though, is lots of action and intriguing moments, with one fight scene in particular likely to receive a lot of attention, and while there's nothing overly spoiler-y in it (perhaps Marvel are taking tips from Lucasfilm when it comes to trailers), there was still plenty to get excited about, and some tantalising hints about the plot of the film.

13. Bucky Has His Memory Back

The Winter Soldier was one of the very best Marvel films to date, and a large part of that was the sub-titular character, Bucky. Played by Sebastian Stan, he was Steve Rogers' old friend turned biggest enemy, having had his memories altered and been brainwashed to hate Cap. The struggle of that old friendship, and Cap's attempts to get him to remember, played out throughout the film, culminating in the post-credits scene of Bucky in the Captain America exhibit at the Smithsonian. Now, as revealed in this trailer, he has his old memories back. Steve asks him if he knows who he is, and he responds: "Your mom's name was Sarah. You used to wear newspapers in your shoes." That certainly sounds as though he's got his old memories back, which will lead to him joining his old friend's team in the film.
