Captain America: Civil War - 13 Major Plot Clues From The First Trailer

12. The Government Wants Bucky Dead

Some of the biggest talking points from Ant-Man came after the credits had started to roll, with the setup for the Wasp, and the reveal of Bucky being trapped in a vice of some sort. At that time, Cap didn't want to call Tony Stark for help, instead choosing to turn to Falcon's new buddy Scott Lang. That left the intriguing possibility that it was actually Stark who was responsible for the perilous position Bucky is in, while it could also have been down to the villains Crossbones or Baron Zemo. Instead, based on what we see in this trailer, it looks like it was actually the government. There are references to Bucky's actions in The Winter Soldier, and it looks like officials will want him to pay for those, even if he isn't that person anymore. That means either within the film, or off-screen, they actually track down and capture Bucky, and Steve Rogers helping him won't be doing any favours for his own relationship with the government. What's more, as Steve points out, they don't plan on taking him alive, meaning that those people who have Bucky captured are actually planning on killing him, not just imprisoning him for his crimes, so he's going to be on the run for at least part of the movie.
