Doctor Who: 10 Actors That Should Guest Star In Series 9

10. Damien Molony

Molony first came to light as the ancient vampire Hal in Being Human, written by none other than Who regular Toby Whithouse. He then spent two series as one of the leads and has been getting fairly regular television work since, with roles in Ripper Street and Suspects. He€™s a hugely talented actor who is able to portray ancient, vulnerable and amoral efficiently, and often at the same time. He also has a large amount of charm which is always useful for winning fans over. This means he could play a wide variety of characters, from villainous human to ethereal alien, allowing for a huge set of potential dynamics for the writers and directors to choose from. Speaking of writers, the previous experience of working with Toby Whithouse will help, as he€™ll already have some idea of what to expect. He€™s also still a very young, up-and-coming actor. There are a lot of performers who€™ve appeared in Doctor Who and gone on to have huge careers, such as Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield. A guest star slot could be a great opportunity for Molony and give him exposure to a wider audience. As he€™s a performer who always gives his all and can thrill in the right role, this could be beneficial to both the actor and the viewers. He€™d get the exposure Who offers and its fans would get an invigorating performance and a memorable character to boot.
