Every 2016 Netflix Original Movie Ranked Worst To Best
From Adam Sandler to Pee-wee Herman.
This past year, Netflix proved more than ever their commitment to making not only exclusive TV shows, but also feature films, with a number of releases as part of their Netflix Originals label that can't be seen anywhere else.
Though naturally not every exclusive movie available on the streaming platform is great or even good, it still emphasises the fantastic value Netflix offers, and how they're aiming to have 50% original content as soon as possible.
2016 at least saw enough promise of that initiative thanks to several compelling sci-fi flicks and a number of terrific dramas, and with the number of Originals sure to rise in the coming years, with that will hopefully come an even greater number of ambitious films not merely reserved for a hungover Sunday afternoon.
Here is every 2016 Netflix Original movie ranked from worst to best...
18. The Do-Over
The second entry into Adam Sandler's four-movie deal with the streaming giant, this limp action comedy attempts to convince audiences that Sandler and David Spade are an entertaining double act, and categorically fails.
The plot doesn't make sense, there's a ton of product placement, some woefully dated humour that feels unsavorily mean-spirited, and a general listlessness that essentially reinforces the running joke that Sandler's movies are basically just paid holidays for him and his friends.
Unfortunately Sandler also dragged the likes of Paula Patton, Matt Walsh, Nick Swardson, Luis Guzman, Kathryn Hahn, Michael Chiklis, Sean Astin and Catherine Bell to the party, because apparently few can say no to that prime Netflix dollar.
