Every MCU 2018 Project Ranked By Anticipation

6. Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Avengers Infinity War Justice League
ABC

After all these years, it's safe to say that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has more than earned its place in the MCU. Some may disagree with that statement, particularly people who still feel the odd need to trash the show despite having stopped watching back in the early part of season one, but fans who have stuck with the show and seen its evolution and critics who continue to praise it will undoubtedly agree that these characters deserve it, as we've spent more time with them over the course of nearly 100 episodes than any other character in the franchise.

It remains a weekly dose of Marvel fun, one full of Inhumans, Ghost Rider, aliens, evil LMDs, alternate realities, time travel, and so much more. And with season five currently in full swing, there's a lot going on in the team's world, as they've been thrust into a future where the Earth has been destroyed and what's left of humanity is under the thumb of the Kree and on the brink of extinction.

How will they find their way back to the present day? What will happen to SHIELD now that it's seemingly been dismantled again? Will characters like Deathlok and Graviton ever return? What's going to happen to Coulson when the Spirit of Vengeance comes to collect on the debt he owes it? And did Quake really destroy Earth, or is this all a potential post-Infinity War future? These are just a few of the many questions season five gets to tackle going forward when it returns with its newest episode on January 5th.
