Supermans suit has taken quite a radical change in recent years even the iconic S has been given a sharper shape for a super sleek modern approach. Our all-American heros suit is not just a costume, its an extension of his alien abilities the suit sets him apart. There were no red briefs, there was no kiss curl in his hair, but the suit spoke for itself. Having to adapt to the role of a Kryptonian warrior within a short space of time was no small feat Cavill had a definitive edge over Routh from the get-go. Theres no place like home where the S stands for hope, not just Superman.
Rouths suit was fashioned from the Dick Donner era and was taken as a homage to the original film. We believed he was the Superman we all remembered, but we never really had a chance to see him prove his worth. And although Cavill had the fitting back story with his suit, Routh had the briefs, he had the kiss curl, and he even looked similar to Reeve for those elements, he takes the trophy.
