Independence Day 2: 10 Ways To Make It Not Suck

8. Acknowledge the Damage of the First Film

CORRECT SIZE ID4 Damage One great thing that an Independence Day sequel could do is present the world in the wake of a disastrous alien invasion. How has humanity rebuilt since the first film? Nearly every major city in the world was destroyed, and while plenty of time has passed between original and sequel, that€™s not enough time to completely rebuild all of New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and the countless international cities that were taken out during the first film. Independence Day 2 has a lot of room to get creative with how the human race has moved on since the events of the first film. How have we rebuilt? What is the condition of the United States of America? Have we learned anything from the alien technology onboard the ships that were destroyed at the end of the first film? Independence Day 2 has the freedom to show us a completely altered timeline of world history, where modern life stops at 1996 and has to restart completely. That€™s something I€™d be very interested in seeing.
