Justice League Dark Review: 4 Ups & 5 Downs

3. The Totally Uninteresting Villain

Justice League Dark Felix Faust
Warner Bros.

The film focuses on the titular team-up (and all those extra heroes too) at the expense of a compelling villain, while fielding out at least one bait-and-switch too many.

Felix Faust was marketed as the core villain, but he doesn't properly show up until well past the half-way mark, is fairly dull and isn't even in fact the ultimate antagonist.

The final villain doesn't show up until the tail-end of the movie, comes after another red herring is thrown out and, again, just isn't very interesting. Granted, even the acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe struggles with its bad guys, but one hoped there might've been just a little more effort put into building up a palpable threat here.
