Kevin Feige Confirms Venom Movie Isn't Part Of The MCU

It looks like Toms Holland and Hardy won't be facing off anytime soon.

Tom Holland may have just let slip that Spider-Man: Homecoming will be the first in a whole trilogy of MCU Spidey movies, but don't expect Tom Hardy's Venom to be showing up in any of them.

Sony Pictures announced a Venom movie back in March, with Hardy's casting revealed a couple of months later. However, while it was expected that it wouldn't be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there was no official word on the matter - until now. Speaking to AlloCine, Marvel head-honcho Kevin Feige confirmed the movie would not be in the MCU:

“For now, there is no plan for Venom in the MCU. It’s a Sony Project.”

While it's not unexpected news, it does leave some big question marks over how a Venom movie will be approached without Spider-Man being in it, given the two characters are tied so closely together. That said, Feige doesn't shut the door on the idea, so there's always the chance things could change in the future.

Sony are building their own Spider-Man universe sans Peter Parker, with a Black Cat/Sable movie also planned. Again, it's unclear how that's all going to come together without Spidey though, unless the studio does plan on finally introducing a live-action Miles Morales.
