Mad Max: Fury Road - 20 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes & References

Within the Citadel fortress that Immortan Joe rules with an iron fist (partly by controlling the water supply), the despotic leader's perch sits at the top of the rock formation at the centre of the city. The fortress is only accessible by human-powered elevator - which is just about the most George Miller thing possible - and one of the guards manning it is carrying another familiar weapon from a Ghost Of Mad Max Past.

The guard in question appears to be carrying an axe with a silver blade that looks remarkably like it has been fashioned from The Feral Kid's silver boomerang from The Road Warrior.

Again, it's probably more of a fan-pleasing nod rather than carrying any narrative significance, since the Feral Kid apparently grows up to help re-establish civilisation, and presumably wasn't made to give up his weapon by force.
