Mark Hamill: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

It's not all about Luke Skywalker, you know.

Mark Hamill has been geek royalty for nearly four decades now, and not just for the obvious reasons either. While Star Wars might be a big part of his legacy, he's also an acclaimed voice actor, comic book writer and filmmaker; and unlike some actors who are bitter about being typecast in genre roles, Hamill has always embraced it. It would be fair to say that his career has been mixed since Return Of The Jedi in 1983, and he never emerged as the star he was expected to be. Audiences seemed unwilling to accept him as anything other than Luke Skywalker, and his desire to move away from the role meant he didn€™t get offered a lot of work. This leads to a CV that€™s all over the place in terms of quality; he€™s had some great roles alongside lots of embarrassing ones. Even then his range of credits show he€™s willing to take chances, so even if the gambles don€™t pay off he€™s usually a memorable presence in them. In 2015 he€™s found himself busier than ever; not only is he reprising Luke Skywalker for The Force Awakens, he also made appearances in various movies, videogames and TV shows like The Flash. Now€™s the perfect time to reflect on Hamill€™s career and discuss the work he doesn€™t get enough credit for; and the stuff where he should have remained uncredited.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
