Mark Hamill: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

5 Awesome Performances...

5. Brent Matthews - Body Bags

Body Bags is a horror anthology from John Carpenter and Tobe Hooper, and in the final story Hamill plays a football player who receives a rather nasty injury to his right eye after a car crash. He€™s so desperate to keep his career going that he agrees to an experimental procedure to have it replaced with a new one; however nobody tells him the eye is from the body of a serial killer, but then he probably couldn€™t read the small print at the time. Hamill is clearly having a blast here, playing the part of a nice family man who is slowly going insane thanks to his new eyeball. The whole story has a cartoonish vibe, leaving him free to ham it up to his heart€™s content; the scenes when the character turns into the killer is Hamill at his scenery chewing best. Body Bags isn't exactly a masterpiece, but it€™s one of the best places to see Hamill explore his range as an actor; and having a bloody good time doing it.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
