Predicting The Rotten Tomatoes Scores Of 2016's Superhero Movies
Do you really think a superhero movie about a team of villains will be Certified Fresh?
Take a look on Twitter whenever a major new superhero movie is released and you'll find plenty of people claiming that reviews don't matter. That's often because said movie isn't getting the kind of response fans were hoping for, but the fact of the matter is that reviews are significant and they do play a major role in the success of many of these releases. Fantastic Four is a perfect example of that. The overwhelmingly negative reviews spread like wildfire and took a massive chunk off the reboot's opening weekend; after all, if analysts believe Josh Trank's Tweet disowning the movie cost it over $10 million, how much would the 177 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes have set it back? That site in particular is now used to judge a movie's success, with that all important score - and the possibility of a "Fresh" or "Rotten" certification - often being used when the time comes for fans to debate which of the year's releases were best. While you don't hear actors and directors talking all that much about these scores, they've become a competition of sorts for those who pay to see them, and the final number is always divisive. So, how are 2016's major superhero movies going to fare? Using everything we so far know about the seven big releases coming our way next year, I've predicted (in a totally scientifically sound way... honest!) what everything from Batman V Superman to Doctor Strange and Suicide Squad will end up scoring on Rotten Tomatoes. Not all of them will be getting that highly sought after "Fresh" logo that's for sure, and which ones will is sure to surprise you...
