Ranking December 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

21. Point Break

RottenTomatoes Score: 8% (3.8) Box Office: Produced on an inexplicable $105 million budget, the remake nobody asked for has made only barely half its budget back after being on release in large parts of Asia for up to a month, and opening to a dreadful $9.8 million in its opening U.S. weekend. In short, it's the bust everyone but the people making it saw coming. Verdict: Did anyone, anywhere really want or need a remake of the classic Kathryn Bigelow-directed 1991 actioner? Unsurprisingly, Edgar Ramirez and Luke Bracey aren't particularly compelling substitutes for Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves, and though some of the action sequences aren't bad, the extreme sports angle feels at least a decade too late, and the plot is about as low-effort as it gets. You probably don't need to be told this, but stick with the original. It seems like pretty much everyone already has.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
