Sin City 2: 9 Reasons It's Going To Be Awesome

When it was finally announced that Sin City: A Dame To Kill For had actually gone into production, legions of the original film's fans were beside themselves; after years of trawling message boards looking for scraps of rumours that the project might finally get off the ground, it had begun with barely a murmur. Robert Rodriguez's sequel to the hugely popular graphic novel adaptation - often cited as the best interpretation of the medium - has finally hit the ground running after stewing in various developmental stages for close to a decade, and naturally, fans are already salivating for the first set pictures and teaser trailers, which will hopefully start hitting the web within the next few months. Either way, given how superb the first film was, there's a lot of excitement for Sin City 2, and here's 10 reasons why it's going to be awesome.

9. Robert Rodriguez & Frank Miller Co-Directing

You might not know this, but Frank Miller is actually credited as a co-director of the original Sin City film, with Rodriguez believing that his original artwork informed the visuals so much that he should receive a credit, yet when the Directors Guild of America refused to acknowledge the credit (alongside the fact that Miller provided motivation and advice to the actors on-set), Rodriguez resigned from the guild in protest, in effect allowing the dual credit to stand. The good news? This fruitful collaboration is happening once again for this sequel, and given how brilliantly it went last time, we can only imagine that the two will have a symbiotic, mutually beneficial effect on one another. Like they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and there's absolutely nothing about this partnership that should change.
