Spider-Man: Far From Home Has Every Villain You Don't Care About

Have they learned nothing?

While Spider-Man: Homecoming was largely received as the best Spidey movie since Sam Raimi's first sequel, its follow-up looks like repeating one of the biggest mistakes in the franchise.

It's been well-documented how Spider-Man 3 had a villain problem - namely, that there were too many of them stuffed in there - and that's something The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would later go on to repeat. Now it looks like another Spidey sequel, Far From Home, is following the pattern, except this time it's with villains people don't care about or, in some cases, haven't even heard of.

The latest rumour, which comes courtesy of MCU Cosmic, is that Molten Man is going to be one of the bad guys Peter Parker fights in the movie, with the character included in some LEGO sets. Real name Mark Raxton, he's a scientist who was exposed to a metallic alloy found in a meteor, giving him the ability to produce heat.

He also just so happens to be the step-brother of Liz Allan, daughter of Vulture and Peter's love interest, so there's a way of tying him into the movie, but he's not exactly someone to get excited about, especially when there are already so many other bad guys confirmed or rumoured.

The other obscure villain in the movie is Hyrdo-Man, a character with the ability to manipulate water, while there's also a good chance that Chameleon is in it as well.

All of that is alongside the return of Michael Keaton's Vulture (although he may not be a villain anymore), Michael Mando's Scorpion, and of course the big addition of Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio. There may be some interesting or surprising ways they can use them, and Marvel have generally got it right with Spidey so far, but after previous problems it's difficult not to fear they're making the same mistake again, especially when some of the villains are even harder to care about.

What do you think of Far From Home adding so many villains? Let us know down in the comments.
