At the end of the film, with Liz moving away to Oregon following her father's incarceration, Michelle is now appointed as leader of the academic decathlon team.

She's then encouraged to properly introduce herself, finally being referred to by her full name, Michelle Jones, before she adds, "My friends call me MJ."

The scene finally confirmed what many fans had suspected for a while, that Michelle was a stealthy re-imagining of the MJ character, and while her name is different and her look doesn't much resemble the classic style of the character, it should be fun to have a totally unique spin on Peter Parker's most iconic romantic interest in the mix.
