A strong and independent woman who constantly craved challenges, Mara Jade initially served as the Emperors Hand: a Force-sensitive assassin tasked with eliminating high priority targets for Emperor Palpatine. Her final order was to kill Luke Skywalker but the death of Palpatine caused her to go rogue and become a smuggler. Despite this, her devotion to the Emperor meant that she still planned to kill Skywalker. After years of working various jobs and being briefly trained as a Jedi before leaving the Order, Jade fell in love with and married Luke Skywalker. She then became a Jedi Master and a member of the New Jedi Orders high council; fighting in the war against Force-immune race the Yuuzhan Vong and the Galactic Civil War that followed it, and giving birth to Luke Skywalkers son Ben, only dying at the age of seventy-five when her nephew Jacen Solo murdered her. Because of her Imperial training, Jade was skilled in various fields including piloting and mechanics as well as her Force-sensitivity giving her a natural strength and resilience, enabling her to fight on when suffering from a debilitating illness caused by the Yuuzhan Vong. Her experiences in various careers and on both the Light and Dark Side of the Force made her a force to be reckoned with.
