Star Wars: 10 Things You Need To Know About Rogue One

Fact list, standing by.

Now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has demolished the global box office, attention turns towards Lucasfilm€™s next cinematic offering €“ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This one€™s €“ whisper it €“ a prequel movie. But don€™t let that put you off just yet, as early signs suggest this actually could be a pretty interesting take on what the galaxy looked like before A New Hope. Judging by the only set picture that's been released, Rogue One is a dark and gritty depiction of what life under a galactic dictatorship would look like. A group of brand new characters will attempt to steal the plans to the original Death Star, which €“ spoiler alert! - will eventually end up hidden within R2-D2€™s rusty innards in Episode IV. A truly impressive cast has been assembled, including hefty stars Forrest Whitaker and Mads Mikkelsen, alongside cult favourites such as Firefly€™s Alan Tudyk and Starred Up€™s Ben Mendelsohn, with room too for young up-and-comers like Four Lions star Riz Ahmed and Felicity Jones of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and The Theory Of Everything fame (who's set to play the lead). Wrangling all this talent is Monsters and Godzilla director Gareth Edwards. His movie and its secrets are being kept firmly under wraps at this stage, but here€™s all the known facts about about Rogue One so far€
