There has been an awakening, have you felt it?

Suddenly, the hype machine for Star Wars Episode IX is up and running, with J.J. Abrams ready to get the franchise back on track after the divisive reception to both last year's The Last Jedi and then this May's Solo.

It's been confirmed that production will begin in August, with Abrams directing from a script written by himself and Chris Terrio (Argo, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), and almost all of the cast is coming back. That not only means the likes of Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, and John Boyega, but Mark Hamill and even Carrie Fisher, who'll appear thanks to some repurposed unused footage from The Force Awakens.

Although the movie will be accompanied with the usual veil of secrecy that comes with any Star Wars or Abrams project, the reveals so far mean we do know some of the most crucial details at this early stage (there's still almost a year and a half until its release date), and they paint an intriguing picture for the ninth episode that leaves us with more questions than answers.
