Star Wars: The Force Awakens: 10 Biggest Rumours You Need To Know (Nov 13)

Oh God, not him.

In just a month, every question we've asked endlessly in the wake of every trailer and official image release will be answered, as The Force Awakens in cinemas fr the first time. Since the eve of the last Star Wars trilogy, film hype has never been this tangible; excitement has never been this electric in the air; and cynicism has never been so pronounced. It all looks incredibly exciting, inevitably, but despite Disney's usual fondness for ruining their own movies at the marketing stage, the trailers have so far left enough room for speculation, rumours and theorising to whip the fans up even more rabidly. And they're appearing with such frequency now that the release date is upon us, that regularly sifting through the most notable is almost a necessary duty. But which of the latest rumours most deserve examination?

10. Finn Is Lando Calrissian's Son

The issue of Finn and Rey's surnames will prevail until the film confirms both (or someone accidentally and irrefutably confirms them in the next month or so), but that doesn't stop the inevitable rumour-mongering. For Lando - because of the casting of a black actor - the most recycled theories have suggested he's either Lando Calrissian's son or a relation of Mace Windu. It's not exactly imaginative (and the reality is probably more unexpected) but now a rogue listing on Amazon has seemingly confirmed the former suggestion. One official The Force Awakens jigsaw is listed with the telling qualifier "Lando Calrissian's Son" seemingly confirming suspicions. Rating: 5/10 The reality is if Abrams takes the easy route and has Finn's surname revealed as Calrissian, it's going to be lazy option. But it wouldn't be unexpected. This is probably not a real listing however. It might be a real product, but the gap in "Lucas Films" and the generally amateur feel mean you should probably take it with a pinch of salt. It might still have stumbled on the truth, but it's not an authentic source.
