Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Deleted Scenes Which Would've Made It Perfect

8. The Underwater Death Star

While Endor didn't appear to have much water on it, it's fair to assume that parts of the Death Star may have been blasted into the far reaches of space, and this was something which was initially set to be a big part of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. As a result, Jakku wouldn't have been a Tatooine clone; instead, it was set to be a swampy planet with a large ocean which the second Death Star would have crashed into. In what would have no doubt been a chill inducing nod to the events of Return of the Jedi, the Emperor's throne room would have been at the bottom of this ocean, with Rey diving into its remains in order to scavenge. It's there that she was set to find a map which would have kicked off her adventure as it would have shown where the remnants of the Jedi are, and specifically Luke Skywalker's location (how they would have explained that seeing as the Death Star was destroyed before he went into hiding isn't clear). From a visual standpoint, this sounds incredible, but it gets even better. Another idea thrown around was to have the Millennium Falcon go underwater and fly through these remains, a breathtaking and unique sequence which would have been unlike anything we've ever seen in a Star Wars movie up until this point.
