Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Deleted Scenes Which Would've Made It Perfect
5. A Female Supreme Leader Snoke
While there was nothing fundamentally wrong with Supreme Leader Snoke, he wasn't really all that memorable. In fact, as much as I hate to say this (especially as I loved each and every second of Star Wars: The Force Awakens), he came across as a fairly generic CGI bad guy! Thankfully, Episode VIII can flesh him out and give us a proper look at the Star Wars Universe's new big bad, but alternative designs for the character sound much more interesting. It's no secret that J.J. Abrams decided on the final appearance of Snoke at a fairly late stage in production, but did he make the right decision? I'm not so sure he did. With the decision made that Snoke shouldn't be as old or decrepit looking as the Emperor, they toyed with the idea of having him initially appear as strikingly beautiful - similar to a marble statue - only for the audience to realise upon closer inspection that he's actually quite a ghoulish character who has been consumed by the Dark Side. There was definitely an element of that in the movie, though a greater emphasis was put on his scars. The most interesting alternative idea though was Snoke being a woman. That would have been a fun direction to go in, especially as Rey is clearly going to be the lead hero of this new trilogy.
