3. Luke Skywalker Is The Villain...

There has been much speculation over the last few months as to which character will be the central villain in Star Wars: The Force Awakens - as discussed above, many believe that Gwendoline Christie will be taking on the role of Captain Phasma, sent to track down Finn's rogue stormtrooper, while Adam Driver is most likely to be playing Sith lord Kylo Ren. But other theories online are pointing to an altogether more unexpected potential villain, suggesting that Luke Skywalker will in fact be the main bad guy, having turned to the dark side at some point in the aftermath of Return Of The Jedi. The leak online of a cyborg holding Vader's mashed up helmet sparked this admittedly tenuous theory. Does it seem plausible that Luke would turn to the dark side after everything he's been through? Without knowing what happened in the intervening years since Return Of The Jedi it's perhaps impossible to say, although repeating the Jedi father turning to the dark side motif might be a little too close to plagiarism for fans to swallow. Time will tell.
