Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 7 Crazy Fan Theories From The Second Trailer

4. Domhall Gleeson Will Be Playing Luke's Son

Another cool aspect of the new trailer is the opening monologue, taken from Return Of The Jedi, slightly tweaked and spoken by Mark Hamill reprising his role as Luke Skywalker (although there was plenty of online chatter attributing this speech to another character - Hamill has confirmed it's his voice speaking). The nod back to Return Of The Jedi is certainly another example of how the filmmakers are paying their respects to what came before, and the logical assumption to make from this is that the Skywalker family lineage will play a huge part in The Force Awakens. But who is it Luke is delivering this speech to? Another actor whose character hasn't been announced yet is Domhall Gleeson, and some believe that he may well be the son of Luke Skywalker. Other reports have suggested that he is the son of a major character, but maybe not Master Skywalker. It's perhaps unlikely he's Luke's - the Jedi never had a love interest in the original trilogy (leaving aside kissing his sister), so unless flashbacks covered this aspect it could all feel a bit sudden.
