While some fans initially criticised Star Wars: The Force Awakens for raising far too many unanswered questions, it's definitely proving to be a good thing for Disney; we're all going to be debating Episode VII all the way up to the release of Episode VIII in December 2017. There's a lot of speculation going on. And while the "real" identity of Supreme Leader Snoke has led to a lot of crazy theories, they pale in comparison to those surrounding Rey and the identity of her parents. The answer behind who she calls mum and dad is arguably the biggest mystery to come out of The Force Awakens, and it's inevitably led to a lot of very strange theories on forums, comments sections, and various websites hoping to be able to claim that they figured it out first when their identities are ultimately revealed in Episode VIII or IX. Some surprisingly make more sense than others, and it's hard to escape the feeling that at least one of these is going to end up panning out in some way, even if it's slightly differently than anticipated. Whatever the truth may be, it's fair to say all of these theories are batsh*t crazy, and both Rian Johnson and Colin Trevorrow had best prepare for backlash if they've chosen one of them...
