Star Wars: The Force Awakens Ending - 10 Implications For Episode VIII

4. Darth Solo

Shouldn't Snoke have waited until Kylo Ren had completed his training before unleashing him on the New Republic? Yoda warned Luke of the dangers of not completing his own training (even though he proved to be frustratingly wrong), and the young villain's vulnerability and lack of control almost cost him his life. But lessons were learned and it seems that Snoke has Ren's full development in mind now that the discovery of more active Jedis has been made. Perhaps that was initially down to his fear that Ren would cut him down when fully empowered to symbolically complete his development? Anyway, the sequel will see Kylo Ren reunite with his master (who probably isn't that tall in real life) and go full Sith, tantalisingly offering the prospect of more power and of him getting a new name: Darth Solo. It might be a grotesque destruction of his father's legacy, but that's sort of its appeal. And for everyone wondering whether we'll see a battle for Ben's soul, it's unlikely that he's going to be able to pull back from the light side. The slaying of his father couldn't have more of a symbolic confirmation if he'd torn open his chest to reveal a blackened heart.
