Suicide Squad: 8 Plot Twists No One Will See Coming

The Joker may not be THE Joker after all.

While a leak during this year's Comic-Con may have forced Warner Bros. to release a first look at Suicide Squad months before they wanted to, it remains one of 2016's most mysterious comic book movies. Magazine features may have shed some light on the plot and general tone, but very little is actually known about how the first villain led superhero film is going to end up playing out. If just one of these predictions is correct then, expect Suicide Squad to be the most controversial comic book movie of 2016 as these villains show the heroes exactly how it's done...

8. Bruce Wayne Funds The Suicide Squad

Thanks to set photos depicting The Dark Knight chasing down The Joker and Harley Quinn, we've known for a while that Batman is going to factor into Suicide Squad. However, while Ben Affleck was on the Toronto set of the movie, he was spotted wearing the kind of suit not belonging to a superhero, meaning Bruce Wayne will also play a part. There have been a lot of rumours about how Batman might factor into Suicide Squad, with one claiming that he breaks into A.R.G.U.S. and confronts Amanda Waller about her intentions for Task Force X. That's cool and all, but it doesn't really achieve much, and there's a much better way to use him here which would really shock fans and regular moviegoers alike in a significant way. Revealing somewhere near the end of the movie that Bruce Wayne is the one providing the government with the resources to make the Suicide Squad a reality would be a real shocker. It makes sense though; after all, Batman may see some value in reforming some of his greatest foes, while being involved at least means he can do something to ensure that Waller isn't up to no good with the team!
