13. Jake Gyllenhaal Will Be The Batman

Apparently, if Ben Affleck was to leave the role of Batman, Matt Reeves' ideal replacement is Jake Gyllenhaal, who was actually under consideration when Christopher Nolan was casting Batman Begins.

While he'd be a great choice and the rumour gained a lot of traction at the time of its release, Gyllenhaal himself spoke to China News Asia and when he was asked outright about the Batman gig he was pretty clear:

“Wow, that’s a very difficult question.The answer to that question is ‘no’.”

Now, this wouldn't necessarily mean he wasn't just covering the truth (as Joaquin Phoenix was with The Joker Origin) but the fact that he's also been cast in the MCU could cast considerable doubt. There's also now a suggestion Reeeves wants to cast younger than him.
