As James Bond Celebrates 50 Years Today, Here's A Look Back At Our Top Ten Favourite Villains From The Series' History.

Ever since the release of Dr No in 1962, the first of twenty two Bond films based on the crime thrillers penned by Ian Fleming in the 50's, we have had a plethora of super villains with their own unique quirks and ploys to cause mayhem. Fortunately, each time they have been thwarted at the last moment by our favourite Spy James Bond, who has since been played by eight actors to date, from Sean Connery through to Daniel Craig. We have also witnessed some fairly zany characters in the way of villains too, such as Jaws, Mr Big, Scaramanga and others. With yesterday being Global James Bond Day, celebrating fifty years of our favourite spy, what better opportunity then than to document our favourite villains from the series? Because without the villains, after all, there would be no James Bond.

10. Dr. Julius No Film: Dr No Dr Julius No was portrayed by Joseph Wiseman in the seminal James Bond film "Dr No". In the film, the Dr is plotting to disrupt Project Mercury - an American-manned space launch - with a radio beam weapon, but is thwarted by our hero 007 when he topples the device used to sabotage the Project and causes it to disable. A conflict between the two then ensues, which culminates in the Doctor being pushed into a cooling VAT before boiling to death.
