I'm kind of a movie nerd. I watch a lot of French films and silent movies. I don't really see the appeal in torture porn, and find most Hollywood blockbuster action films boring. But even I know that musicals aren't "cool." And though I enjoy some (Singin' in the Rain, in particular), I wouldn't exactly call myself an aficionado of the genre. However, one thing I know that everyone enjoys is a stand-alone musical sequence. 10. The Cable Guy (1996)

It turns out that the titular cable guy, played by Jim Carrey, is a psychopath, clinging for dear life to anyone willing to befriend him. In the middle of the movie, after Carrey's Chip hooks the protagonist up with a home theater system, they hold a party. During the party we see Chip rock out the karaoke to the Jefferson Airplane track Somebody to Love, not only a reflection on his own psychoneuroses, but also tremolo-ing in a way that would make Grace Slick herself would bow down in awe.
