Uncharted: 5 Directions The Potential Film Could Take

3. The Tomb Raider Approach

Uncharted Movie Nathan Fillion
Warner Bros.

By the 'Tomb Raider approach' I mean using one of the games as a very loose basis for the plot and including certain specific sequences, yet with the film taking its own distinctive path, perhaps even setting up future sequels that follow a pretty much original story (much like the recent Alicia Vikander Tomb Raider, which based itself off of the 2013 reboot of the series).

While this approach hasn't produced the most exhilarating movies, as proven by the Tomb Raider franchise, that may lie more on the shoulders of the directors, screenwriters or even cast, rather than the approach itself.

Whatever the reason may have been, Uncharted taking this route could produce an interesting new storyline, but it could also simply lead to a disappointing film.
