"We can be slaves, or we can be Lycans" - UNDERWORLD prequel trailer

Director Len Wiseman is gone and lead star Kate Beckinsale has vanished but the over $200 million grossing UNDERWORLD franchise series keeps chugging along just the same. Apple have released a trailer for UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS, the prequel to the previous two movies in the franchise which you can see by clicking on the screenshot below... You know I like all the talent involved here. Bill Nighy and Michael Sheen are two of the best Brit actors around who look comfortable in any role or genre. I even think replacement Rhona Mitra's got more talent than Kate Beckinsale and they couldn't have chosen someone better when Kate dropped the franchise. But I just can't get into this universe, I've seen both movies but neither of them agree with me. This prequel tells the origin of the feud between the race of aristocratic vampires known as Death Dealers and their one time slaves, the Lycans Frenchman Patrick Tatopoulous directed this installment, making his debut behind the camera. He previously worked with Len Wiseman as a production designer on STARGATE and formed a friendship with the helmer which eventually saw him working on UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION and LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD under Wiseman's direction. And of course the friendship won him this gig. You can see UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS from January 23rd (U.S.) and presumably soon after in the U.K.
